About PowerStation Natin

Free calculators and guides that help Filipino households plan battery backup, solar and electricity costs without needing an electrical background.

Why this site exists

Brownouts, rising electricity rates and a flood of imported solar and battery gear have left a lot of Filipino households making expensive decisions with very little reliable information. Sellers quote in kilovolt-amperes and amp-hours; buyers just want to know whether the fan will still be running at midnight.

PowerStation Natin exists to close that gap. Every calculator here takes ordinary inputs — the sticker on your battery, the appliances in your house, the rate on your bill — and returns a result in plain English, along with the reasoning behind it. You should finish a calculation understanding why the answer is what it is.

Who runs it

This site is built and written by Mike, based in Central Luzon, Philippines. It started as a set of spreadsheets built while planning a home backup system and working out why supplier quotes varied so wildly for what looked like the same requirement. The spreadsheets became calculators, and the notes became these guides.

I am not a licensed electrician, and this site does not pretend otherwise. What it offers is careful, transparent arithmetic and clearly explained engineering rules of thumb — the same calculations a good supplier would do, shown openly so you can check them. Anything involving actual installation work is flagged for a licensed professional, every time.

How the numbers are produced

The AI assistant

The site includes an AI assistant that can discuss your specific setup and read the results of calculators you have run. It is restricted to home energy topics — batteries, solar, inverters, generators, appliances and electricity costs — and will decline anything outside that scope. It can make mistakes, and it is not a substitute for a site inspection by a qualified electrician.

How the site is funded

The calculators and guides are free. Costs are covered by display advertising, which is why you will see ad units on article pages. Ads are never placed inside calculator results, and no advertiser has any influence over what the guides recommend. See our privacy policy for how advertising cookies are handled.
